Where light meets craft, and craft becomes art. Anthony works across the disciplines of production lighting design, fine carpentry, precision CNC fabrication, and handbuilt guitars — bringing the same obsessive attention to beauty in all of it.
Anthony Kuun is the founder of Light Bender Creations and co-owner of Lighting Bender Production Lighting and 3D Design, based in Johannesburg. He has spent years honing a rare set of skills that cross the boundaries between technical precision and artistic vision.
From designing immersive lighting rigs for live events to hand-shaping guitars from raw tonewoods, Anthony brings the same dedication to every discipline he touches. His work is not a collection of separate trades — it is a single creative philosophy expressed in different materials.
Production lighting for live events, concerts, theatre, and immersive experiences. Anthony designs with intention — every fixture placed with purpose, every cue written with feeling.
The work
Anthony has been working as a freelance lighting designer and technician since 2018, and as co-owner of Lighting Bender Production Lighting and 3D Design, he brings full-service capability to any production — from design and visualisation right through to installation and operation.
He has served as a presenter at Stage Audio Works and is experienced in the full range of production lighting disciplines — including structural and staging work, project management, and CAD drafting.
What sets Anthony apart is not just technical skill but the ability to see a space as a canvas — and to use light to paint something that an audience will feel long after the show is done.

Bespoke carpentry that honours the material. Anthony works with wood the way a luthier does — with deep patience, careful listening, and an eye for what the grain wants to become.
The work
Growing out of a long tradition of woodworking that runs through the Kuun family, Anthony's carpentry practice is rooted in a genuine love for the material. He approaches every project with the same question — what does this piece want to be?
From custom furniture to bespoke fitments, structural builds, and artistic installations, his carpentry work carries the same fingerprint as everything else he makes: precise, considered, and deeply human.
No two pieces are the same. That is the whole point.

Where precision meets possibility. CNC allows Anthony to work at a level of complexity and accuracy that pure hand-cutting cannot achieve — but the creative vision behind every cut is entirely human.
The work
CNC routing is a tool in Anthony's hands the same way a chisel is — something to be used with intention, not just capability. He brings his background in CAD design and carpentry to every CNC project, ensuring that what comes off the machine is worth putting your name to.
His CNC work spans custom components for guitar builds, decorative and structural panels, signage, precision-cut parts for furniture, and bespoke fabrication for clients who need something that simply cannot be bought off a shelf.
If you can draw it, he can cut it.

Handbuilt custom guitars under the Rensburg Custom Guitars name. Every instrument is an act of devotion — to the player, to the tone, and to the craft of building something worthy of music.
The work
Anthony builds custom electric guitars under Rensburg Custom Guitars, and is co-founder of Fat Pug Custom Drums and Iron Bark Stixx — a family of instrument-building ventures that reflects his belief that the finest instruments deserve to be made by hand, with care, and with a maker's full attention.
Each guitar begins as a conversation. What kind of player are you? What does your music need? What should this instrument feel like to hold? The answers shape every decision — the wood selection, the electronics, the neck profile, the finish.
The guitar you've always wanted exists. Anthony builds it.

02
Quotations and Scope of Work
All quotations are valid for 14 calendar days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. A quotation is not a binding contract until confirmed by the Client and supported by payment of the required deposit.
The scope of work is defined by the written quotation or project brief agreed upon by both parties. Any work that falls outside the agreed scope — including additional materials, design changes, extra travel, extended hours, or additional gig days — will be quoted separately and invoiced accordingly.
Quoted prices are based on information available at the time of quoting. Where material costs, subcontractor rates, or fuel costs change materially between quoting and commencement, the Service Provider reserves the right to revise the quotation with reasonable notice.
All quoted amounts are in South African Rand (ZAR) and exclude VAT unless expressly stated otherwise.
03
Payment Terms
All deposits are strictly non-refundable
The deposit compensates the Service Provider for time allocated, materials ordered, other bookings declined, and planning work done on your behalf. No exceptions apply.
Carpentry and Custom Fabrication
A deposit of 50% of the total agreed project value is required before any work commences. This includes all custom furniture, built-in cabinetry, exhibition stand builds, CNC cutting, and bespoke fabrication.
The remaining 50% balance is due and payable before the completed work is handed over or delivered to the Client. No completed work will be released, installed, or delivered until the full balance has been received and cleared.
Where a project involves staged milestones, interim invoices may be issued at the completion of each stage. These are payable within 5 business days of issue. Work on subsequent stages will not commence until the milestone invoice is settled.
The Service Provider reserves the right to retain possession of any completed work until full payment has been received, in accordance with the common law right of retention (lien) recognised under South African law.
Production Lighting and Live Events
A deposit of 50% of the total agreed fee is required to secure and confirm a booking. Dates and services are not confirmed or held until this deposit is received.
The remaining 50% balance is due on the day of the event or upon completion of the gig, before the Service Provider's equipment is removed from the venue.
Where a production spans multiple days, the full balance for all days is due on the final day of the production, before load-out.
Travel, accommodation, equipment hire, and subcontractor costs incurred on behalf of the Client are invoiced separately and are payable within 7 days of invoice.
Guitar Building and Custom Instruments
A deposit of 50% of the agreed build price is required to place an instrument in the build queue. This deposit covers materials acquisition, design consultation, and workshop allocation.
Once the build commences, the remaining 50% is due before the completed instrument is handed over to the Client. The instrument will not be released until the full amount is received and cleared.
Build timelines are estimates. Delays caused by material sourcing, custom components, or workshop demand do not entitle the Client to cancel without the cancellation provisions of Section 5 applying.
Accepted Payment Methods
Payment is accepted by EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) into the banking details provided on the invoice. Proof of payment must be sent to Anthony via WhatsApp or email upon transfer.
Cash payments are accepted for amounts under R5,000. All cash payments will be receipted. The Service Provider does not accept cheques.
Payment is deemed received only when funds reflect in the Service Provider's account. Proof of payment does not constitute payment.
04
Late Payment
Invoices not settled within the agreed payment terms are subject to interest at 2% per month on the outstanding balance, calculated from the due date until the date of full payment.
Where payment is not received within 7 days of the due date, the Service Provider reserves the right to:
Suspend all ongoing work on the Project until payment is received
Retain possession of completed or partially completed work under the common law right of retention
Engage a collections service or attorney to recover the outstanding amount, with all associated legal costs payable by the Client
List the Client's details with a credit bureau
The Service Provider's willingness to continue with a project despite late payment does not constitute a waiver of these rights.
05

06
Changes to Scope of Work
Any change to the agreed scope of work — including design changes, additional features, material upgrades, or additional event days — must be requested in writing and agreed upon by both parties before implementation.
Changes to scope may affect the timeline and total cost. The Service Provider will issue a revised quotation or variation order for any additional work. Work on variations will not begin until the variation is confirmed in writing and, where applicable, a revised or additional deposit is paid.
The Client acknowledges that repeated or significant changes to the brief may extend the delivery timeline, and that the Service Provider cannot be held responsible for delays arising from Client-initiated changes.
07
Ownership of Work and Materials
Ownership of any completed work — whether a piece of furniture, a fabricated installation, a lighting design, or a custom instrument — remains with the Service Provider until the full agreed price has been paid. This is a reservation of ownership in accordance with South African common law.
Materials purchased by the Service Provider for a specific project remain the property of the Service Provider until the Client has paid for them in full. In the event of non-payment, the Service Provider reserves the right to remove or reclaim materials where physically possible, in addition to pursuing the outstanding amount through legal channels.
For carpentry and fabrication work installed on a Client's property: the Service Provider retains the common law right of retention (enrichment lien) over the installed work and any property improvements made, until full payment is received. The Client expressly acknowledges this right and agrees not to waive it without the Service Provider's written consent.
Design drawings, technical plans, CAD files, lighting plots, and any preparatory documents created by the Service Provider remain the intellectual property of the Service Provider unless otherwise agreed in writing.
08
Liability
The Service Provider's total liability to the Client in respect of any project shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for that specific project.
The Service Provider is not liable for:
Loss of income, loss of profit, or consequential losses arising from delays, defects, or cancellations beyond the Service Provider's reasonable control
Damage caused by the Client's misuse of completed work, failure to follow care instructions, or third-party interference with installed work
Delays caused by the Client's failure to provide access, information, approvals, or timely payment
Failure or damage caused by structural deficiencies, pre-existing electrical faults, or unsuitable site conditions that were not disclosed to the Service Provider before work commenced
Loss or damage to the Client's property during a production event caused by circumstances beyond the Service Provider's control, including third parties, weather, or venue conditions
The Client is responsible for ensuring that all necessary permissions, permits, and approvals required for any installation or event are obtained before work commences. The Service Provider is not liable for any consequences arising from the Client's failure to do so.
09
Warranty
Carpentry and Fabrication
The Service Provider warrants all carpentry and fabrication work against defects in workmanship for a period of 6 months from the date of handover. This warranty does not cover:
Natural movement, expansion, or contraction of timber in response to humidity and temperature changes
Damage caused by misuse, improper care, or accidental damage by the Client or third parties
Surface wear consistent with normal use
Work that has been modified, repaired, or interfered with by any party other than the Service Provider
Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the warranty period, with supporting photographs. The Service Provider will assess all claims within 14 business days.
Custom Guitars and Instruments
Custom instruments carry a 12-month warranty on workmanship and structural integrity from the date of handover. Electronics and hardware components carry the manufacturer's warranty where applicable. The warranty does not cover damage caused by impact, humidity extremes, improper storage, or modification by any party other than the Service Provider.
Lighting and Production Services
The Service Provider warrants that all equipment used in a production is in good working order at the time of the event. The Service Provider will make reasonable effort to resolve any equipment failure during an event. No refund will be issued for failures caused by power supply issues at the venue, acts of God, or third-party interference.
10
Intellectual Property and Portfolio Use
All designs, concepts, drawings, renders, and creative work produced by the Service Provider remain the intellectual property of Anthony Kuun unless the Client has paid in full and a separate written assignment of rights has been agreed.
The Service Provider retains the right to photograph all completed work and to use those photographs for portfolio, marketing, and social media purposes. The Client consents to this use by entering into an agreement with the Service Provider. Where the Client wishes to restrict this right, this must be agreed in writing before work commences.
The Client may not reproduce, share, or commercially exploit the Service Provider's designs, plans, or concepts without prior written consent.
11
Force Majeure
Neither party shall be in breach of this agreement or liable for any delay or failure to perform obligations where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond that party's reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, floods, fire, civil unrest, national power outages (loadshedding), pandemic or government-declared states of disaster, strikes, or failure of third-party suppliers.
Where a force majeure event affects a lighting or production booking, the Service Provider will retain the deposit as compensation for the blocked date and lost opportunity. Both parties will make reasonable effort to find an alternative date.
Where a force majeure event delays a carpentry or fabrication project, the Service Provider will notify the Client in writing and provide a revised timeline. The Client may not cancel without penalty solely on the grounds of a force majeure delay unless the delay exceeds 60 calendar days.
12
Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation within 14 days of the dispute being raised in writing.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, either party may refer the matter to a mutually agreed mediator before initiating formal legal proceedings. The costs of mediation shall be shared equally between the parties unless the mediator directs otherwise.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The parties consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate's Court or High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, as appropriate to the value of the claim.
In the event that the Service Provider is required to institute legal proceedings to recover any outstanding amount, the Client agrees to pay all legal costs on the attorney-and-own-client scale.
Anthony takes his work seriously. These terms exist to protect both of you — so that every project begins with clarity, proceeds with confidence, and ends with something worth being proud of.
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding the matters set out herein and supersede all prior discussions, representations, or agreements. No variation of these terms is binding unless agreed in writing by both parties. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Note: These terms are intended as a practical business document. Anthony Kuun recommends consulting a South African attorney to formalise these terms for high-value contracts.
